EnergyTwin

Months 19–48 · Wind Farm & Virtual Power Plant Digital Twin

Overview

EnergyTwin is a wind farm Digital Twin integrating real-time data from operational wind turbines with physics-based and data-driven models. The system enables wind power forecasting, predictive maintenance, and counterfactual analysis of failures.

Developed in collaboration with Università del Sannio (Italy), EnergyTwin uses the ENET-RTLab simulation environment and applies the full EDITS methodology — from data assimilation and surrogate learning to causal inference and multi-step-ahead forecasting. The Virtual Power Plant (VPP) component demonstrates energy system coordination and forecasting.
